Still need a proven keeper. Ziger is a bit of an unknown quantity. We were fortunate with our two loanees last season.

Jules has just started following Magnus Norman on Twitter. Was a regular for Oldham and a solid option before getting injured and then released at the start of the year. Joined Dorking and was backup to Foulkes when he arguably should’ve had more game time. Could be reading too much into it, but make of that what you will.

Local lad as well, from Kingston.

Looks like we’re announcing Craig Fasanmade, wide attacking player from Salisbury. From his stats looks as if he was a fringe player at Salisbury. Also at Hungerford before that.

Looks like Chippenham has been his longest stint with 19 goals in 66 appearances according to FotMob.

Why so many players from last season listed as unknown. Surely now we are in June with the season at least a month behind us some of them must know their plans for next season. This isn't the Premier or Football league. We had a poor team at the end of last season so presumably the manager knows the players he doesn't want. Any of the players who were any good would have been snapped up already. Don't tell they all have great agents who are going to get the best deal for them. Why are the fans always the last to know who is going to be in the team for the new season. Every year it seems to be the same with a hurriedly put together side just as the friendlies are being played.

I would imagine a huge amount of effort over several months goes into creating a "hurriedly put together side just as the friendlies are being played".

I think there are a few things in play here. We had a delayed start due to the takeover of the clubs ultimate holding company. Although this happened on the 7th April some changes didn't happen at companies house till the 13th May, my assumption is that those two new directors needed to go through a Owners and directors test/screening by the league/FA. So until that was confirmed that might have affected planning.

The players on the unknown list are what is unknown to us, the fans, I'd imagine some are already signed up for next season and the squad is almost complete. The club is drip feeding the signings to keep engagement during the summer on the social media channels probably for a range of reason but one might be as statistics from these might help in further sponsorship arrangements the club tries to secure.

I'm sure a lot of effort goes in to assembling a squad. As I think the chairman explained in one of his updates, certain players we might of wanted to keep had already accepted offers elsewhere by the time the clowns were ousted. He didn't put it like that though

I do think it’s a shame we are one of the few clubs to not release a retained/released list.

I've never understood that either. It's a great way of keeping people informed as well as alerting clubs to player availability.

Maybe it is / was not clear cut who is retained. There may be players we would like to retain who are looking at options.
