Yep, expect most of us would have accepted a point beforehand but this was really two points thrown away rather than one gained. We gave them a lot of problems and when directly attacked, their centre backs were made to look ponderous, clumsy and ordinary. Thought two of their goals were somewhat soft whereas ours were all superbly executed, however they all count and Dover's somewhat soft and scrappy ones mean we come away with a draw from a game we had in the bag.
I've noticed that at times recently the forum says it has too many connections to it. I think that is overloading the server and making it slow to respond at times.Tony wrote: Sat Sep 20, 2025 10:10 pm Sorry for the repeated posts but I am getting frequent error messages when accessing the forum so not clear if posts are being posted. I've seen this other places where it was search engines or other bots that were sending a lot of traffic to the forum. The challenge is to try to filter out the unimportant traffic coming to the forum. In the perfect world, some bots could be blocked by banning their IP addresses but it could be lots of IP addresses. Another potential solution is to only allow registered users to view the forum, but I can see that it isn't a bad thing having the forum publicly visible. Alternatively using a free version of Cloudflare could solve the problem if it is semi-malicious bots causing lots of traffic. (I'm no huge expert but happy assist our Admin in any way I can if that is helpful.)

Yes, i’ve noticed this in the last few weeks too, I couldn’t access the forum for several days last week, and was getting a similar error message that geedub describes.Tony wrote: Sat Sep 20, 2025 10:10 pm Sorry for the repeated posts but I am getting frequent error messages when accessing the forum so not clear if posts are being posted. The forum gets dozens of "bots" signing up everyday. To begin with they were able to start posting immediately so random links were being posted. I changed the settings so that new users need to be approved by a moderator before their account becomes active (so anyone who joins needs to email me and request that I approve their account) and this fixed the issue, but all the bot accounts just sit there as "inactive users", so I will log on at some point this week and delete a load of them, hopefully that will fix the issue...?geedub wrote: Sun Sep 21, 2025 2:31 pmI've noticed that at times recently the forum says it has too many connections to it. We were astonished on hearing this on Saturday. Even in a fairly big ground, it didn't look like it. They did have some sort of "community day" on though, and there were a lot of very young kids present who were probably all counted. Quite a few adults there with their kids for that I think, given by the many people there whose constant loud conversations throughout the (excellent) game showed they had zero interest in football.
