Crown & Manor;-

Andy Wellsted; Alan Earl, Ken Merry, Keith Hanna, Graham Belcher, Hugh Lindsay, Doug Haslegrave, Micky Roach, Bryan Myers, Peter Farren, Jeff Sillett.
A workmanlike victory for top of the table Hampton at mid-table Crown & Manor. Hampton got off to a flyer with their opening attack producing a goal. Farren pushed the ball through to Haslegrave, the ball came back to Farren, off a defender’s tackle, six yards out, 1-0. The home side responded well and in the 13th minute equalised. Following a Belcher foul, Vincent pumped a free-kick into the penalty area, Aldridge getting the slightest touch to send the ball past Wellsted as he came out to collect the ball. Shortly after the second half kicked off Myers scored the first of his two goals. Farren and Haslegrave again combined with Myers able to flick the ball past Brown, the Crown & Manor keeper. The winning goal came in the 74th minute. Myer took a quick throw-in to Roach who played the ball back to Merry who then sent over a high cross which was headed past Brown by Myers – quick thinking that caught the home side ‘napping’. Hampton almost got caught out trying to overplay possession but Hannah was on hand to deflect Tickell’s header away for a corner.
