Post match interview with Jules up on Twitter now - thought at half time we might go on and win the game, apology to the fans, no sign he is throwing in the towel just yet.

Unfortunately, seems like the team threw in the towel today. Was anyone actually at the game who can give a bit more detail on line up etc?

Was at the game, so thought I'd share my ramblings...
We were unable to conclusively work out the formation, at times it looked like a 5, at times it looked like a 4, but one thing is for sure, Eastbourne started out as the better side. Within the 1st Minute, NPL won a free-kick 45yards from goal on the touchline, from which we put in the most abject cross (roll along the floor) I've seen which lead to Rowley having to do some early sweeping, this set the tone. Eastbourne looked better than us on every level, bombarding our box with set piece after set piece, long throw after long throw, but we weathered this storm in the first 20 minutes. In comparison, every set piece we had, didn't beat the first man, through planning or quality of delivery. On minute 27 Boro finally took the lead from a quick counter and cross which was well headed in off the bar. We won a free-kick immediately from KO, as the goalkeeper felled Dixon on the edge of the area. Once again we tried a routine, but to no avail. Eastbourne then had a few chances but we had a golden opportunity on the break. Fasanmade flicked the ball past the defender but got his Volley horrifically wrong and it came off his heel when trying to lace it into the goal. After 4 minutes of additional time we made it to the break. In Jules' post match interview he said we were in a good position to win the game at HT. In my view we weren't awful, but still not great, but 1 goal down, importantly still in the game at the Break.

With 1 change at the half, Richards came on for an injured???? Silva. Ronan Silva really struggled during the first half, and I thought we'd improve with Richards. Alas we started the second half brighter of the 2, but it didn't take much for us to be undone. 2/3 passes for the 2nd, 3rd & 5th goal to carve us open from our own attack, as we were woefully exposed defensively and dreadful in attack. We mess around with the ball so much in the final third, no forward runners, so slow, too many touches. You wouldn't know we have a strikers/forwards coach, there's no organisation at all and we don't look like scoring. The 4th goal came after Eastbourne had a solid 5 minutes of possession and were toying with us. The 6th goal was the icing on the cake. We had a free-kick in our own area which was taken long by Rowley. The ball was headed back, the striker latched onto it and like Grego-Cox at Dorking, our keeper was lobbed. The last 5 goals were an embarrassment. Forget out of confidence, we were incompetent. At the full time whistle all of the players came over, with Messrs Rodari, Fasanmade and Deadfield all verbally apologising, saying its unacceptable and not good enough and saying that there will be repercussions. Luke Ruddick apologised, Jules came right up close and held his hands up in an apology. Down to 22nd, lost to bottom, now 23rd.

A 6-0 defeat is never acceptable, and even less so after not winning for 12. The odd poor performance is to be expected, but after losing 8 in a row, Leatherhead, Tonbridge and today cannot be looked past, there are some serious issues on the pitch. Performance has to come second to results and Ben stated in his interview that the last 20 minutes against Bath was more like us, that's 20 minutes in 4 games of football, what do we expect.

Ratings:
Rowley 5/10 - Not Much to do, picked the ball out of his net 6 times.
Wilkie 3/10 - Torn a new one by Anifowose.
Thomas 3/10 - Dreadfully out of his depth sadly.
Sayers 4/10 - Too many Silly fouls.
Paul-Lavaly 5/10 - Marked out of the game by a streetwise Eastbourne.
Atkinson 3/10 - Foul after Foul committed, is a shadow of the player we saw last season
Gardner 2/10 - How does he keep being picked?
Deadfield 5/10 - Dreadful Set-Piece delivery but looked like he cared. Competed more than most.
Silva 1/10 - Weak as ****. Appalling on the ball.
Fasanmade - 4/10 Looks really low on confidence. Was shunted on the wing at times and didn't suit him, really snatched at the big chance for us.
Dixon 4/10 - Has a bit about him but still so raw for the team.

Subs:
Richards 2/10 - Outmuscled time and time again. Gave them the ball back from Kick-Off, no not with a big kick out of play. With an underhit pass to our player with the 2nd touch after going 3 down.
Rodari - 5/10 competed for everything and won a few duels. Looked frustrated and isolated.
Innocent- 5/10 Didn't do anything wrong. Required more tactical information from Management, 30 seconds after coming on, as if the 5 minute talk wasn't enough to understand roles.
Parkinson -5/10 Came on late, didn't see much.

Final Verdict: The players are woefully, out of form, confidence and dare I say nowhere near good enough for NLS level. The management aren't without fault either and sadly I think that Jules doesn't have the answers, and even with a win or 2 that is papering over the cracks. An exceptional servant to our football club for over 5 years but he looks out of his depth and this is a sad way for it to end, (if it does end of course).

But at this stage who do we bring in?
Dowson as an interim seems the most logical thing to boot them into shape and share his opinions. Wouldn't mind the Hanworth crew here, they seem to consistently succeed and defy expectation. Possibly Brad Quinton, David Noble spring to mind. Alan Devonshire if he isn't retired for good!!! Time for a change. Must Win Tuesday. Saturday is huge if we win that's excellent, I'd we lost then ee begin to be cut off from safety. We're not even half way through the season yet, BUT, this may be the week that Makes or breaks the season entirely!

The point about Nathan Paul-Lavaly was one of my main takeaways from the game as well. He was very effectively stopped from playing by a side who had clearly done their homework on him. As soon as he got the ball he was surrounded, so we didn't benefit from his creativity and unpredictability. I would play NPL somewhere completely random on Tuesday just to have that element of surprise - got to try something!

No surprises with Thomas, got released from a relegation side in the league below cos they could not guarantee him minutes and now he is starting in the NLS, pathetic

I think Thomas looks a lot better when Massey is on the pitch, which of course he wasnt yesterday.

Eastbourne have their highlights up on YouTube now - I won't post the link as nobody should view that by accident.
Their camera appears to have got stuck and can only show one half of the pitch. They obviously tried to fix it at halftime but then it could only show the other half after that...

3rd goal through Rowley's legs

On that showing, on another day they could easily have won 15-0.
