Kingstonian, including a number of ex-Beavers (George Wells, Alan Inns & Lee O’Leary), shocked the Beavers when they scored in just two minutes. A corner from the left fell loose in the box, Aaron Morgan took full advantage to scramble the ball home. The rest of the first half saw Hampton pushing forward at every opportunity creating numerous chances without scoring. Federico, Diarra, Kiernan and Hutchinson all keeping Rob Tolfrey and his defence under pressure. The second half continued in much the same vein. Hampton seemed to have broken through in the 52nd minute but Casey was adjudged marginally offside. On the hour Kingstonian’s Alan Inns was sent off for a handball in the area. Tom Jelly took the spot kick but Tolfrey dived to the right and pushed the effort away. Eventually K’s resistance was broken with three goals in a 21-minute spell. Moone found Kabamba with a pass and his shot went under Tolfrey; Murphy scored with a header from a Casey free-kick and then Moone hit a precise shot clear of Tolfrey’s dive after Kabamba had cut the ball back into his path. The victory was Hampton’s sixth win on the bounce.
