Thought we played quite well until their first goal.

FT 0-2. Once again giving away that first goal proved decisive. We were probably on top in a game of very few chances when Dorking got their first from a scramble from a corner. But it was symptomatic of where we need to improve having given the ball away in midfield leading to the corner in the first place. Dorking played quite ugly route one football all game exploiting MaCallum's huge throw at every opportunity and at some point they were going to get a chance which they took. Their second again came from exploiting, this time very effectively, a breakdown in our attack when a poor ball into their box led to a swift counter attack finding us stretched for numbers. For all our endeavour we created very little until the second half when our best effort was a dipping Sayers shot that cannoned off the bar. Dorking slowed the game down with false injuries (how many times have I seen their keeper go down for treatment when Marc White needs a team talk?) and broke up any promising play with cynical fouls, resulting in a fair few yellow cards. They didn't need to do more with a two goal cushion. Effective but not great to watch. We did look stronger in midfield today but needed the likes of Kiernan, Kretzschmar and Ashford to be more involved. New lad Clarke played well and Vaz got a run out as an attacking wide midfielder. We rather wasted a few good dead ball positions with poor delivery. However, there is reason to be more optimistic but we do need to start picking up wins soon.

We do look fitter, I’ll say that. And I completely agree with you, Tony, until Dorking scored we looked on top. The defending was much more active, without the instant drop back that’ been an annoying feature of recent years.

And yes, Dorking are a very streetwise team. They’re almost appealing for a foul before it’s occurred.

But I still don’t see much control in centre midfield. We still get overwhelmed there far too quickly.

And chance creation? Thought Sam worked very hard upfront but without much support.

Wesley Fonguck back from a loan in the USA (he’s with ebsfleet) is that maybe someone we can bring in.

I was just thinking how glad I am that I don't have to watch that dreadful route one "football" and ludicrous, cynical, play acting, injury feigning Dorking side again. There need to be rule changes introduced about "injury" induced team talks, goalkeepers should have to go to the half way line to come back on after such "injuries" and no subs permitted at all in time added on.

Still at Luton, and still injured.

You realise that when you are talking to yourself there is no need to post it here don't you?
