Dowse always seems to operate a "try it and see" policy regarding signing players. Bring them in give them a few games and if it doesn't work move them on and try others. Is this better than properly analysing a player before signing him? Maybe so mid-season but not in the close season. Like it or not it's how he operates.
I think Dowse said recently he needed two out of three signings to work. Finding good players at this time of the season is never easy unless you are prepared to pay transfer fees and bigger wages to attract the best individuals. Personally, I would have hoped for a bit more from Kiernan, Ashford and Kretschmar given they do have the experience but it takes time to gel. Unfortunately games are beginning to run out and time is against us. We need more than 1 point a game to reach 50 points and 4 from 6 games is behind that trend. I know Dowse will be very motivated to get things right so expect more player churn. Some loans are up for renewal or recall soon.
