Welling were leading Hampton 1-0 at the interval but were hit with a sending off in the second half, which the Beavers were able to take full advantage with three late goals. Welling took the lead in the 34th minute, Brighton loanee Sam Grogan heading in a cross from Ohran Stewart. Hampton manager, Alan Devonshire, didn’t look too happy with his team when they came off at half-time, losing to a struggling opposition. Coming out with a little more enthusiasm for the second half, Hampton levelled in the 77th minute when Yaku finished off a move by Inns. A few minutes later Hodges was bearing down on goal when Welling’s keeper, Jamie Turner, came out and took down the striker. Referee Eddie Smith sent Turner off, Welling made a substitution to allow their Youth team keeper, Adam Highsted to take the gloves. Hodges gave Hampton the lead in the 83rd minute, heading in a McAuley free-kick. With a minute to go, Hampton completed the turn-around when Welling failed to clear their lines and Lake scored from close range. Devonshire came off at the end looking a bit happier with life!
