Player of the season
As we get near to the end of the season, it's time to think about our players of the season. With the high turnover in players and a few long term injuries, not many can claim to have been consistently performing for the whole season and very few have been guaranteed starters when fit. On this basis only Alan Massey would fit the criteria. Only four players, Massey, Sayers, Deadfield and Gardner have started more than 30 games, Silva, Fasanmade, Thomas and Field are in the 20s. Grego-Cox is leading scorer but started only 12 games. If we could have got a few more minutes out of him he would probably be my pick for the season. There have been some impressive loanees, Frimpong, Paul-Lavaly, Vaz but given the short time with us it's hard to pick them over the longer term established squad. In the end I am going for Alan Massey with an honourable mention for Charlie Sayers whose season was curtailed by injury. And also an award for the groundsman who has kept the pitch in the best condition I have seen.

Alan Massey for me as well. With this season's high turnover and comparative lack of appearances from others, there surely can't be many credible contenders at all. Yes he has made the odd error but given some of the inconsistencies in front of and around him it's probably not surprising.

Massey may have been here all season but he has been very poor.
POTS has to be Grego Cox

Would love to give it to Vaz as he he’s worth the entry fee alone but not sure he’s been here long enough
Think saying Massey has been very poor is very strong!
Okay, he's made the odd error but don't all players!? There are a few contenders for POTS really I'd probably say my top are Massey, Grego-Cox, Sayers, Field.
Like someone put on this page, some of the loanees we've had in would also but it's hard to give them the award/have them as a contender when we've had longer term players this season.

Good shout - I've not seen him make any sort of significant error all season!
Id say maybe Paul-Lavaly was the most impactful player during the time he was with us. Fasanmade was very effective at times but less so and benched more under Dowse. So many others have not played enough games (in particular Fernandez and Atkinson) to be considered POTS so it really has to be Massey. His experience helped get the best out of some of our younger defenders early in the season although his relative contribution has probably been diluted as the squad has improved in recent months, but still feels like he is the right choice.
