The first leg, (played four days earlier had ended all-square at 1-1 in front of a crowd of 450) so it was all to play for. The second leg turned into a tense and nervy affair. To be fair to Fisher they had the better of the few chances during the 120 minutes. Twice Gavin Tomlin and Shaun Batt were presented with good chances but both contrived to miss the ball! Tomlin looked to be Fisher’s danger man, he brought out a good save from Lovett in the first half. Late on, McAuley, Hodges and Matthews all had strikes from distance, however the longer the game went on, the more likely it was that penalties would decide the issue. After extra time, it was down to a shoot-out. Yaku scored Hampton’s first, Andre McCollin responded, 1-1; McCauley scored, Luke Hickie blasted over, 2-1; Lovett, Hampton’s keeper, scored, for Fisher, Wesley Thomas scored, 3-2; Glenn Harris tucked away Hampton’s fourth, Batt missed the target, 4-2 to the Beavers.
Hampton would go on to lose 2-0, to Eastbourne Borough, in the Play-Off Final.

Anyone remember the completely farcical shenanigans and dithering by the league about where the playoff final would take place? I'm pretty sure it was only confirmed as being at Stevenage a couple of days before.

Anyone remember the completely farcical shenanigans and dithering by the league about where the playoff final would take place? I'm pretty sure it was only confirmed as being at Stevenage a couple of days before.

Was it something along the lines of it was scheduled to be at Stevenage but that seemed mad as it was us vs Eastbourne. They tried to move it to somewhere else maybe Crawley or Ebbsfleet or somewhere like that. But then it ended up back at Eastbourne can’t remember the reason why, police or the TV not wanting to go elsewhere maybe.
