A soggy Beveree (Manchester Weather?) greeted both teams in this third pre-season meeting between these two clubs. After a relatively even start, Salford picked up the pace, Michael Phenix picked up the ball in midfield, went though on goal but shot wide. Keirnan made a solo run but was denied by Max Crocumbe. In the 35th minute, Phenix had another chance but dragged his shot wide of the post. A minute before the interval Salford took the lead, Ritchie Allen turned crisply and fired past Howes. The Beavers struggled to make any impression on Salford during the second half. Ten minutes from time Kretzschmar fired in a free-kick but the ball was deflected away for a corner, which came to nought.
