A tense afternoon at Beveree for a match between seventeenth placed Hampton and twenty-first placed Kingsbury. In the sixth minute Thistleton and Kuhne combined to almost set up a chance for Joyner, but Chris Simpson was on hand to shepherd the ball back to his keeper. Hook did well to get down to a shot from Eurimo, soon after Kingsbury had a shout for a penalty turned down. There was no shortage of goalmouth action in this game, Jason Dale shooting high when well-placed. Hook palmed away a goal-bound shot from Rodney Findlay in the 33rd minute. The second half saw Hampton take control of the game, helped by the sending off of Eurimo in the 75th minute for a foul on Payne. With five minutes to go, Joyner picked the perfect time to score his first goal of the season. In the lead up, Rattue found Thistleton out on the right, when the cross came over, Joyner, the smallest player on the pitch, leapt high and sent an unstoppable header into the roof of the net.
