THOSE WERE THE DAYS
15th November 2014
Isthmian (Ryman) League Cup 2nd Round
HRBFC 4 (Culley 2, Federico, Harris) Harlow Town 1 Att; 201
HRBFC ;-
Mark Smith; James Richmond, George Wells, Kieran Murphy, Justyn Roberts, Archie Nkumu, Ola Williams (Jerome Federico, 75), Saheed Sankoh, Nick Bignall (Ben Harris, 73), Duncan Culley, Jake Rose (Luke Wanadio, 80).
Unused Subs; Zaki Oualah (GK), Luis Morrison-Derbyshire.
Two goals from debutant, Culley, eased the Beavers into the 3rd Round of the League Cup. Early chances went begging and it was the visitors who struck first in the 27th minute, Jared Small converting a David Cowley cross. In the 37th minute a disputed free-kick was hit exquisitely past keeper Ed Thompson. Four minutes into the second half and Cullet got a very fortunate second goal. A loose ball in the box flew into his path, striking his shin and rolling in – luck, or being in the right place, it still counted. Small had a chance to get his second but hit his shot straight at Smith. Hampton scored twice more, both from substitutes. In the 79th minute Federico found space on the left and hit a curling shot into the top right-hand corner. In stoppage time Federico could have had a second but blasted the ball over the crossbar. The miss mattered little as just before the final whistle Harris scored a simple goal from six yards out.
