Only three of last season's squad retained, which, if deliberate, says a lot about how Dowse sees matters. With so little retention it doesn't matter much starting again with a clean slate of players. We can just hope that they perform and we can achieve some level of stability. Silva is probably one I might have retained but thought we never quite worked out his best position.
Yes, I might have opted to have given Silva the benefit of the doubt for a while longer. However, all these departures (apart from Kiernan?) merely demonstrate just how bad much of last summer's recruitment actually was. It's no doubt true that Julian was working in difficult circumstances at times but perhaps we'll be able to tell a bit more about that by how Slough do this season.
